GETTING A PRIVATE BLOOD TEST IN SOUTHAMPTON

Everything you need to know about the costs, walk-in clinic options and what to expect from your blood test.

Many people assume a first-floor clinic means a flight of stairs. Our Southampton clinic on Canute Road is on the first floor, but there is a lift, reached through the ARC shop on the left side of the building. Press the doorbell at the black door first and someone will let you in. You can book ahead or drop in, no GP referral is needed, and results are available by the very next day.

You're probably wondering what it costs, how to find us and where to park. This page covers:

  • The £35 clinic charge and what the tests cost on top
  • Where we are on Canute Road, how to get in, where to park and when we are open
  • The questions we are asked most often

If you already know which test you need, book your Southampton appointment now.

WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE ONE DAY TESTS FOR BLOOD TESTS IN SOUTHAMPTON

Everyone is welcome at our Southampton clinic, and the visit is led by a skilled and compassionate team who keep it smooth and stress-free. Our venipuncture nurses are trained in standard blood draws and in finger-prick (capillary) testing, which suits people with difficult veins or a sensitivity to needles. If the procedure makes you anxious, we are committed to a calm, reassuring environment.

Having said that, comfort means little without reliable results. Behind the scenes, our cutting-edge laboratory meets the highest clinical standards, so your results are fast, precise and trustworthy. You get the same tests your GP would order, without a referral, and the laboratory processes over 100,000 biomarkers every month. If you want to talk through your options, get in touch or email [email protected].

For anyone who likes to see the credentials, here they are.

  • Regulated - Our parent company, Sussex Pathology Limited, is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (certificate number 1-14470761199).
  • Verified - Our state-of-the-art laboratory is CQC regulated and EQA verified, and our home test kit is CE/MHRA marked.
  • Trusted - We are trusted to do more than 100,000 tests and consultations every month.

HOW IT WORKS

Planning ahead is simple. Here is how a visit to Southampton goes.

  1. Pick your blood test - Browse the range, from individual biomarkers to comprehensive panels, or use the Quick Finder to match a test to your symptoms or the organ you want to check.
  2. Book, or drop in - Book an appointment online, or drop in at a time that works for you. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 2 pm. The £35 clinic charge applies to walk-ins and bookings alike, and it covers sample collection for all your tests on the day.
  3. Come to Canute Road - The clinic is at 2-4 Canute Road, Southampton, SO14 3FH (view map), on the first floor. A lift is available through the ARC shop on the left side of the building; press the doorbell at the black door first. The customer car park is behind the building, in bays 7 to 12 (ARC Clinic), and there is public parking nearby. An experienced venipuncture nurse takes your sample from a vein, or by finger-prick if you have difficult veins or a sensitivity to needles. Children aged 5 to 16 can be tested with a GP private referral letter (details here).
  4. Receive your results - Once your sample is analysed in our laboratory, your results arrive by email as a secure, password-protected PDF, usually the same day or by the next day at the latest. If you subscribe, you also get unlimited access to the Health Dashboard, which tracks over 300 biomarkers and shows trends and subtle changes over time.

BOOKING YOUR BLOOD TEST IN SOUTHAMPTON

Open our Southampton clinic page, pick a date and time, and you are booked. Adding a mobile number is optional, and we only use it if your appointment changes, never for marketing. If you would rather not plan ahead, drop in Monday to Friday between 8 am and 2 pm.

The £35 appointment and clinic charge covers sample collection for all the tests you have on the day. Blood tests are not included in that charge, so add the ones you want to your basket separately.
