WE ALSO OFFER EARLY PREGNANCY REASSURANCE CONSULTATION
A 30 minute one to one with a Women’s Health Specialist for early pregnancy up to 16 weeks.
If you have questions about how to look after yourself and your baby in early pregnancy, book a consultation to get your questions answered.
What tests to have before your early pregnancy reassurance consultation:
- Progesterone and HCG on day 1
- Repeat of HCG on day 3 (48 hours later)
This is to make sure the HCG levels are doubling over the 48 hour period in the early (2-5 weeks) pregnancy.
We recommend that you undertake your blood tests before you book your appointment or have your consultation.
During your consultation you’ll receive all the information you need to have a healthy early pregnancy.

-
HCG is best known as the hormone that confirms pregnancy, but its role in a woman’s body goes far beyond a positive test result. From the earliest stages of pregnancy, hCG helps drive hormonal changes that support implantation, maintain the uterine lining, and influence many of the symptoms experienced in the first trimester. Changes in hCG levels can also provide valuable information about how a pregnancy is progressing.Read now -
WHAT BETA HCG LEVEL INDICATES MISCARRIAGE
In early pregnancy, beta hCG levels are often used to help assess how a pregnancy is developing. When results fall outside expected patterns, it can raise understandable concern about miscarriage and what the numbers actually mean. Many people search for a specific beta hCG level that confirms miscarriage, but hormone levels are rarely that straightforward and must be interpreted carefully.Read now -
WHAT DO OESTRADIOL LEVELS TELL YOU?
Oestradiol is the main and most active form of oestrogen in the body. Measuring oestradiol levels can provide valuable insight into hormone balance, reproductive health, and how the body is functioning at different life stages. Because oestradiol affects many systems, including the reproductive organs, bones, brain, and cardiovascular system, changes in its levels can help explain a wide range of symptoms.Read now
