About the test

This is our largest health screen panel, offering a full body systems health check and insights, via an immense panel of blood tests. It is the most comprehensive set of tests for you to dig into and unlock the full potential of your health monitoring. With the Ultimate Longevity Blood Test, you gain invaluable insights into every aspect of your well-being, ensuring that your lifestyle is keeping you in peak shape.

The Ultimate Longevity Test is a compendium of current clinical research trends and healthcare specialists, such as Peter Attia, who very much believe in proactive prevention, as opposed to trying to fix things when it's possibly too late. We join them to emphasise a comprehensive and proactive approach to longevity, and highlight the importance of blood tests as a tool for monitoring and improving health.

In Peter's book "Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity," Attia discusses how blood tests can help in early detection of diseases, tracking biomarkers, and personalizing medical strategies to improve healthspan and lifespan.

Attia advocates for regular blood tests to monitor key health indicators such as cholesterol levels, glucose, insulin, inflammation markers, and hormones. He believes that these tests provide critical data that can guide interventions to prevent chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes before they manifest. This proactive strategy is a departure from traditional reactive medical practices, aiming instead to optimise health before the onset of age-related diseases.

Continuous monitoring and a comprehensive panel of tests is 100% the key to preventative health management. You need to know what is happening to your body, so that you can make informed decisions as to what to do next.

Consequently, this is the test to achieve that. One test to rule them all.

Experience the ultimate convenience and speed with our same working day appointments and come to one of our clinics for a venous sample. With our rapid and accurate process you can easily and swiftly assess the overall and detailed state of your health. Our CQC-regulated laboratory guarantees rapid and accurate results for a huge number of vital biomarkers that this panel offers and with our Health Dashboard tool, you can monitor your progress in detail, across future tests.

Doctor's notes

Hi, I am Dr. Adam Staten and here's my view on this test as a GP and Clinical Director at One Day Tests.

The Ultimate Longevity Blood Test is our most comprehensive set of tests. It is based on the same principle of the Ultimate Performance, but has a number of additional, in-depth markers.

This test will give you an incredibly comprehensive insight into any health issues you may be having, and help you ensure that your lifestyle is keeping you in good shape.

We test a range of hormones from those involved in regulating your metabolic rate, to those involved with fertility and sexual function.

We look at the health of your kidneys, liver, and immune system and check for anaemia.

We test for micronutrients and take a particularly detailed look at your iron status.

Lastly, we check cholesterol and blood sugar levels to let you better understand your cardiovascular risk.

Having you tested for this hugely comprehensive set of biomarkers will put you in good position to see how you can optimise your performance and provide early warnings, all in the same panel.

Red flag symptoms for the Ultimate Longevity Blood Test

Even if your blood tests are normal, you should see a doctor if you have any of the symptoms below because they may be a sign of serious underlying illness.

  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Drenching sweats during the night
  • Persistent fevers
  • Progressively severe symptoms of any kind

Your Results and Health Dashboard

The results of your Ultimate Longevity Blood Test will be emailed to you as a secured PDF file, ready for your GP and will also be uploaded to our Health Dashboard area of the website. It’s a unique and powerful tool, powered by our in-house clinical analysis research, to match your biomarkers across test panels and symptoms, as well as provide clinical commentary on all individual biomarkers you tested for.

The health dashboard will also provide "panel level" commentary - a birds eye view of the biomarkers that were tested. This feature allows you to view your test results and clinical commentary, and compare them to previous results, giving you a clear understanding of how your health is progressing.

By using the Health Dashboard, you can identify changes in your biomarkers and make necessary adjustments to your lifestyle. This added value is immense, as it empowers you to monitor your health and make informed decisions about your well-being.

It's free and is available with all of our tests.

Special instructions

Hi, I am Stefania Brown, I am the Laboratory Manager at One Day Tests and here are the lab's special requests for the Ultimate Longevity Blood Test.

Take this test after any symptoms of short term illness have settled.

If you are taking biotin supplements, stop taking these 72 hours before the test.

Take this test as close to 9am as possible.

You do not need to fast for this test, but avoid fatty foods for 8 hours before the test.

Hormonal contraception will interfere with this test so ideally pause this and use a barrier method before taking this test.

For women, this test is best taken between days 2 and 5 of your cycle (with day 1 being the first day of your period). If you do not have periods, then take the test at any time.

If you are taking corticosteroid medication, the cortisol test will be difficult to interpret but do not stop taking this medication without speaking to your doctor first.

Venepuncture appointment - how to prepare

If you are coming into one of our clinics for the test, this is what you need to do before you arrive:

  • Drink plenty of water about an hour before the appointment.
  • Avoid coffee/tea/energy drinks. Water is good!
  • That’s it! We’ll do the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hi, I am Lana Nela, Lead Nurse, and here is what we are frequently asked about this test.

Why does that test have to be taken at 9am?

Levels of cortisol change throughout the day but they peak at around 9am. For this reason, we always check cortisol at this time, so that we can accurately interpret your levels against the lab reference range.

What is HbA1c?

HbA1c (sometimes known as glycated haemoglobin) is a measure of the proportion of haemoglobin that is bound to sugar. Because the lifespan of red blood cells that contain haemoglobin is about 3 months, this test tells us your average blood sugar in the last 3 months. It is a good test for diagnosing diabetes and pre-diabetes as well as monitoring diabetes.

I’m a man, why are you checking oestrogen levels?

Although usually considered a ‘female’ hormone, men also produce oestrogen is small amounts. Excess oestrogen production can cause problems with sexual function, fertility, and the formation of breast tissue (known as gynaecomastia).

I’m a woman, why are you checking testosterone levels?

Although usually considered a ‘male’ hormone, women also produce testosterone in small but important amounts. Excess testosterone levels may be found in conditions such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. There is also increasing interest in the role of low testosterone levels in menopausal symptoms.

Why take this test?

Hi, I am Dr. Marco Esposito and here is why it's important to take this test.
  • You are tracking your vital biomarkers to make sure your body is at its optimum
  • You want a thorough health check
  • You think any symptoms you have may be due to hormone imbalances
  • Your want to know if your diet is providing you with enough micronutrients
  • Your are interested in your cardiovascular risk

Is this test right for you?

Hi, I am Sandeep Patel, I am the Laboratory Director at One Day Tests. Here are the symptoms that you may wish to address with this test.

This test is for people who want a detailed and comprehensive assessment of their health, whether that is to see if you need to make any lifestyle changes or if you are benefitting from lifestyle changes you have already made.
