WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE ONE DAY TESTS FOR BLOOD TESTS IN GUILDFORD

Our Guildford clinic opened in November 2023, and like all of our clinics it is open to anyone who prefers help with their blood sample, needs results as soon as possible, or has tests recommended as venous only. Our experienced medical professionals make the visit comfortable and stress-free, and we take pride in a quick turnaround, with same-day results for most tests.

So with the visit covered, what about the laboratory behind it? Our state-of-the-art laboratory and phlebotomy clinic work to the highest medical standards across a wide range of diagnostic blood tests, and the laboratory is CQC regulated and EQA verified. If you are not sure what you need, get in touch and speak to a human, or email [email protected].

For anyone who likes to see the credentials, here they are.

  • Regulated - Our parent company, Sussex Pathology Limited, is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (certificate number 1-14470761199).
  • Marked - Our home test kit is CE/MHRA marked.
  • Scale - Our laboratory tests over 100,000 biomarkers every month, and we are trusted to do more than 100,000 tests and consultations monthly.

BLOOD TESTS AVAILABLE AT OUR GUILDFORD CLINIC

The Guildford clinic offers a huge range of blood tests, with over 300 biomarkers to choose from. You can test a single biomarker, such as calcium or oestradiol, or order a comprehensive panel, some of which cover more than 50 biomarkers. You can also pick tests by symptom, or check one body function, such as liver or kidney function.

The ready-made panels people choose most are the Full Blood Count, panels for diabetes and cholesterol, and the always-popular Essential All Systems Blood Test. The most popular test across the whole range is the Ultimate Performance Test at 59 biomarkers, and the largest is the Ultimate Longevity Test at 74.

Having said that, the sample type matters. If you would like help getting the sample, or your tests specifically require a venous sample, our phlebotomist draws blood from your vein. That is the recommended route if you need urgent results or your tests are marked "venous only". If you prefer capillary sampling, we can do that too. Here is a selection of other tests available at Guildford, with biomarker counts and usual turnaround.

HOW IT WORKS

The process is simple. Here is how a visit to Guildford goes.

  1. Choose a blood test - Pick a single biomarker, a comprehensive panel, or a test matched to a symptom or body function. The Quick Finder helps if you are unsure.
  2. Book, or walk in - Book an appointment at a time that suits you, or just walk in and you will get a same-day appointment. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 7.45 am to 4 pm. The £35 clinic charge applies to walk-ins and bookings alike, and it covers sample collection for all your tests on the day.
  3. Find us on Castle Street - The clinic is at 36-37 Castle Street, Guildford, GU1 3UQ (view map), inside Castle Street Clinic, above Cote Bistro. Use the Castle Street Clinic entrance; the What3words reference is ///sits.occupy.unity. Please note access is restricted for people with limited mobility, and there is no wheelchair access. Large car parks nearby are Castle car park (GU1 3RW) and Millbrook car park (GU1 3UU). A professional venipuncture nurse takes your blood from a vein, or by finger-prick if you prefer or have difficult veins.
  4. Receive your results - Once your sample reaches our lab it is processed promptly. In most cases your results arrive by email the same day or the following day, as a secure, password-protected PDF. Some tests need extra processing time, so enquire first if your results are time-sensitive. You can print the file and take it to your GP or healthcare provider, and you get free access to the Health Dashboard, where every biomarker comes with commentary and you can see how your results sit against the reference ranges over time.

BOOKING YOUR BLOOD TEST IN GUILDFORD

Open our Guildford clinic page, pick a date and time, and you are booked. Adding a mobile number is optional, and we only use it if your appointment changes, never for marketing. If you would rather not plan ahead, walk in Monday to Friday between 7.45 am and 4 pm.

The £35 appointment and clinic charge covers sample collection for all the tests you have on the day. Blood tests are not included in that charge, so add the ones you want to your basket separately. If you plan to test regularly, a subscription gives you discounts on future tests, with home kits or clinic appointments at a frequency of your choice and the option to pause or restart.

If you need a custom panel, or you have a question before booking, get in touch or email [email protected]. We run our own laboratory and can build any panel you like.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about our clinic.

How much is a private blood test at Guildford?

You pay the £35 clinic charge plus the price of the tests you choose. The charge covers the phlebotomist taking your sample for all your tests on the day. Prices are shown on each test page.

Do I need a referral to get a blood test at Guildford?

No. No GP referral is required, and the clinic is open to anyone. Choose the tests you want on our website, then book an appointment or walk in, and you will get a same-day appointment with a professional venipuncture nurse.

When is the Guildford clinic open, and how do I find it?

The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 7.45 am to 4 pm. It is at 36-37 Castle Street, GU1 3UQ, inside Castle Street Clinic above Cote Bistro, so use the Castle Street Clinic entrance. There is no wheelchair access and limited access for people with restricted mobility. The nearest large car parks are Castle car park (GU1 3RW) and Millbrook car park (GU1 3UU).

Can I test at home instead of visiting the clinic?

Yes. If a visit does not suit you, we offer a home sample collection kit, which is UK MHRA approved. However tests specified as "venous only" need a sample taken from a vein at the clinic, and the clinic is the recommended route if you need urgent results.
