Our Edinburgh clinic offers a huge range of blood tests, with over 300 biomarkers and ready-made panels to choose from. You can pick a single biomarker, such as calcium, or a panel that tests several body functions at once, some with more than 50 biomarkers. On that same note, a word about how the sample is taken. Our phlebotomist draws blood from your vein, which is the recommended option if you would rather a skilled phlebotomist took the sample than do a finger-prick test yourself, or if you need urgent results. The process is simple. Here is how a visit to Edinburgh goes.

  2. Book, or walk in - Book an appointment at a day and time convenient to you, or just walk in on the day and take an available slot. We have same-day appointments, and the clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 2 pm. The £35 clinic charge applies to walk-ins and bookings alike, and it covers sample collection for all your tests on the day.
  3. Come to Gillespie Place - The clinic is at 9 Gillespie Place, Edinburgh, EH10 4HS (view map), with local transport links and car parking nearby. Please note the clinic does not currently have wheelchair access. A professional venipuncture nurse takes your blood from a vein, or by finger-prick if you prefer or have difficult veins.
  4. Receive your results - Once your sample reaches our laboratory it is processed promptly, and 99.2% of samples are tested and analysed within 4 hours. Depending on the test, your results come back the next day as a secure, password-protected PDF. Some tests take longer to analyse, so check the turnaround on the test page or enquire if your results are time-sensitive. Your results also appear on the Health Dashboard, where you can see them as graphs, read the commentary on each biomarker and see how they fall within the reference ranges over time.
