WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE ONE DAY TESTS FOR BLOOD TESTS IN CAMBRIDGE

Speed is the first thing people notice. We take pride in a quick turnaround, with same-day results for most tests, and you do not need a referral to book. Lots of tests, without a referral, today. That is the idea.

Having said that, fast only counts if the results are right. The tests we offer are the same as those your GP would order, and they are processed in the same regulated diagnostics laboratory. Our experienced medical professionals make the visit comfortable and stress-free, and every biomarker explanation comes from our in-house UK GPs, who have years of experience in the field. If you want to talk it through first, give us a call and speak to a human, or email hello@onedaytests.com.

For anyone who likes to see the credentials, here they are.

  • Regulated - Our pathology laboratory and phlebotomy clinics are CQC registered. Our parent company, Sussex Pathology Limited, holds certificate number 1-14470761199.
  • Quality checked - All of our tests undergo stringent external quality assessment routines, and our home test kit is MHRA/CE certified.
  • Trusted - We are trusted to do more than 100,000 tests and consultations every month.

BLOOD TESTS AVAILABLE AT OUR CAMBRIDGE CLINIC

The Cambridge clinic offers a huge range of blood tests, with over 300 biomarkers to choose from. You can test a single biomarker, such as calcium or oestradiol, or order a comprehensive panel, some of which cover more than 50 biomarkers. You can also pick tests by symptom, or check a particular body function, such as liver or kidney function.

The ready-made panels people choose most are the Full Blood Count, panels for diabetes and cholesterol, and the always-popular Essential All Systems Blood Test. For the broadest picture in one visit, the Ultimate Performance Test is the most popular test in our range at 59 biomarkers, and the Ultimate Longevity Test is the largest at 74.

As you can imagine, not every sample is taken the same way. If you would like help getting the sample, or your tests specifically require a venous sample, our phlebotomist draws blood from your vein. That is the recommended route for urgent results and for tests marked "venous only". If you prefer capillary sampling, we can accommodate that too. Here is a selection of other tests available at Cambridge, with biomarker counts and usual turnaround.

HOW IT WORKS

The process is simple. Here is how a visit to Cambridge goes.

  1. Choose a blood test - Pick a single biomarker, a comprehensive panel, or a test matched to a symptom or body function. The Quick Finder helps if you are unsure.
  2. Book, or walk in - Book an appointment at a time that suits you, or just walk in and you will get a same-day appointment. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 7.45 am to 3.30 pm. The £35 clinic charge applies to walk-ins and bookings alike, and it covers sample collection for all your tests on the day.
  3. Come to Chesterton Road - The clinic is at 92 Chesterton Road, Cambridge, CB4 1ER (view map). There are free parking spaces in the car park at the rear of the building, and pay and display spaces on nearby streets. The clinic has disabled access. A professional venipuncture nurse takes your blood from a vein, or by finger-prick if you prefer or have difficult veins. Children aged 5 to 16 can be tested with a GP private referral letter (details here).
  4. Receive your results - Your sample is processed promptly once it reaches our lab. In most cases your results are emailed the same day or the following day as a secure, password-protected PDF. Some tests take longer, so please enquire if your results are time-sensitive. You can print the file and take it to your GP or healthcare provider, and you get free access to the Health Dashboard, where every biomarker comes with commentary and you can see how your results sit against the reference ranges over time.

BOOKING YOUR BLOOD TEST IN CAMBRIDGE

Open our Cambridge clinic page, pick a date and time, and you are booked. Leaving a mobile number is optional. We only use it if your appointment changes, never for marketing. If you would rather not plan ahead, walk in Monday to Friday between 7.45 am and 3.30 pm.

The £35 appointment and clinic charge covers sample collection for all the tests you have on the day. Blood tests are not included in that charge, so add the ones you want to your basket separately. If you plan to test regularly, a subscription gives you discounts on future tests, with home kits or clinic appointments at a frequency of your choice, and you can pause or restart.

If you need a custom panel, or you have a question about which test to pick, get in touch or email hello@onedaytests.com. We run our own laboratory and can build any panel you like.
