GETTING A PRIVATE BLOOD TEST IN LONDON CITY

Everything you need to know about the costs, walk-in clinic options and what to expect from your blood test.

Many people think a blood test means taking time off work. Our Artillery Lane clinic is a one minute walk from Liverpool Street Station and is open from 7.45 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. You can book a same-day appointment or walk in, no GP referral is needed, and most tests have results back the same day.

You're probably wondering what it costs, how to find us and how fast you will be in and out. This page covers:

  • The £35 clinic charge and what the tests cost on top
  • Where the clinic is, when it is open and how to walk in or book
  • The questions we are asked most often

If you already know which test you need, book your Artillery Lane appointment and we will see you in Spitalfields.

WHY PEOPLE CHOOSE ONE DAY TESTS FOR BLOOD TESTS IN LONDON CITY

Artillery Lane is our new flagship clinic. We moved here in June 2026, and it sits in the heart of the City, a minute from Liverpool Street Station. Our experienced medical professionals make the visit comfortable and stress-free, and we take pride in a quick turnaround, with same-day results for most tests.

Having said that, speed is only useful if the results are right. The tests we offer are the same as those your GP would order, and they are processed in the same regulated diagnostics laboratory. Every biomarker explanation is provided by our in-house UK GPs, who have years of experience in the field. If you are not sure what you need, get in touch and we will help.

For anyone who likes to see the credentials, here they are.

  • Regulated - Our pathology laboratory and phlebotomy clinics are CQC registered. Our parent company, Sussex Pathology Limited, holds certificate number 1-14470761199.
  • Quality checked - All of our tests undergo stringent external quality assessment routines, and our home test kit is MHRA/CE certified.
  • Trusted - We are trusted to do more than 100,000 tests and consultations every month.

BLOOD TESTS AVAILABLE AT OUR LONDON CITY CLINIC

The Artillery Lane clinic offers a huge range of blood tests, with over 300 biomarkers to choose from. You can test a single biomarker, such as calcium or oestradiol, or order a comprehensive panel, some of which cover more than 50 biomarkers. You can also pick tests by symptom, or check one body function, such as liver or kidney function.

Ready-made panels include the Full Blood Count, panels for diabetes and cholesterol, and the always-popular Essential All Systems Blood Test. The most popular test in our whole range is the Ultimate Performance Test, with 59 biomarkers. The largest is the Ultimate Longevity Test at 74.

As you can imagine, not every test is taken the same way. Our phlebotomist can draw blood from a vein, which is the recommended route if you need urgent results or your tests are marked "venous only". If you prefer capillary sampling, we can do that too. Most tests have a quick turnaround, but some need extra processing time, so you can check the turnaround time for any test before you book. Here is a selection of the tests people choose at Artillery Lane.

HOW IT WORKS

The process is simple. Here is how a visit to Artillery Lane goes.

  1. Choose a blood test - Pick a single biomarker, a comprehensive panel, or a test matched to a symptom or body function. The Quick Finder helps if you are unsure.
  2. Book, or walk in - Book an appointment online at a time that suits you, or just walk in. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 7.45 am to 5 pm, and you will get a same-day appointment. The £35 clinic charge applies to walk-ins and bookings alike, and it covers sample collection for all your tests on the day.
  3. Come to Artillery Lane - The clinic is at 32 Artillery Lane, Spitalfields, London, E1 7LS (view map), a one minute walk from Liverpool Street Station. There is no parking, so come by train or Tube. The clinic has restricted mobility and wheelchair access. A professional venipuncture nurse takes your blood from a vein, or by finger-prick if you prefer or have difficult veins. Children aged 5 to 16 can be tested with a GP private referral letter (details here).
  4. Receive your results - Your results arrive by email as a secure, password-protected PDF, usually the same day your sample reaches our lab or the next day. Some tests take longer, so check the turnaround time if you are in a hurry. You can print the results and take them to your GP, and you get free access to the Health Dashboard, where you can track your biomarkers over time, read the commentary on each one and see how they sit against reference ranges.

BOOKING YOUR BLOOD TEST IN LONDON CITY

Open our Artillery Lane clinic page, pick a date and time, and confirm with your phone number. If your plans change, you can walk in Monday to Friday between 7.45 am and 5 pm instead.

The £35 appointment and clinic charge covers sample collection for all the tests you have on the day. Blood tests are not included in that charge, so add the ones you want to your basket separately. If you plan to test regularly, a subscription gives you discounts on future tests, at a frequency of your choice, with the option to pause or restart.

If you need a custom panel, or you are not sure what you need, get in touch or email hello@onedaytests.com. We run our own laboratory and can build any panel you like.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about our clinic.

Can I walk in at Artillery Lane without an appointment?

Yes. You can book an appointment or use our walk-in facility, Monday to Friday between 7.45 am and 5 pm. Either way, you will get a same-day appointment with a professional venipuncture nurse, and the £35 clinic charge is the same.

Do you have clinics outside London, such as Leeds?

Yes. All of our clinics are open to anyone who prefers help with their blood sample, needs results as soon as possible, or has tests recommended as venous only. That includes our clinic in Leeds. You can find your nearest clinic here.

Where can I get a same-day blood test near Liverpool Street?

At our Artillery Lane clinic, 32 Artillery Lane, Spitalfields, E1 7LS, a one minute walk from Liverpool Street Station. Same-day appointments are available, and most tests have results back the same day, or the next day. If you are elsewhere in the city, our other London clinics work the same way.

Can I test at home instead of visiting the clinic?

Yes. We offer a home sample collection kit, which is UK MHRA approved, if you would rather not come in. However tests marked "venous only" need a sample taken from a vein at the clinic, and the clinic is the recommended route if you need urgent results.
