TROPONIN T BLOOD TEST
Troponin T is a cardiac biomarker used to detect damage to the heart muscle, most commonly in the setting of a heart attack (myocardial infarction).
It is one of three proteins that make up the troponin complex, which regulates muscle contraction in the heart.
When the heart muscle is injured, for example, due to a blocked coronary artery, Troponin T is released into the bloodstream.
