ULTIMATE FEMALE FERTILITY BLOOD TEST

In this panel we look at all of the biomarkers that are important for healthy ovulation, conception and sustainment of pregnancy, and to help you find any problems that are affecting your reproductive success.

Apart from the usual routine markers this test includes the AMH marker.

Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) is a biomarker commonly used to assess a woman’s ovarian reserve, which refers to the remaining number of viable eggs in the ovaries. AMH is produced by granulosa cells in developing ovarian follicles, and its levels in the blood provide a snapshot of a woman's reproductive potential.

From a clinical perspective, AMH testing is useful in several scenarios:

  • Fertility assessment – to estimate egg supply and guide decisions around IVF or fertility preservation.

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) – AMH levels are often elevated in individuals with PCOS.

  • Menopause prediction – lower AMH levels can indicate declining ovarian reserve and approach to menopause.

  • Monitoring ovarian function – especially during or after treatments like chemotherapy that may affect fertility.

Unlike other reproductive hormones, AMH levels remain relatively stable throughout the menstrual cycle, making the test convenient and reliable at any time.

With our free Health Dashboard tool online, you can track your biomarkers over time and compare your results with previous ones. This feature provides a clear understanding of how your health is progressing and helps you make better-informed decisions about your well-being and any improvement on the fertility biomarkers.

DOCTOR'S COMMENTS

Hi, I am Dr. Adam Staten and here's my view on this test as a GP and Clinical Director at One Day Tests.

DR. ADAM STATEN - GP VIEW AND RED FLAG SYMPTOMS

Prolactin can interfere with the normal regulation of reproductive hormones, such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which are essential for the menstrual cycle and ovulation in women. Elevated prolactin levels can disrupt this balance, leading to irregular or absent menstrual periods (amenorrhea) and anovulation (lack of ovulation).

In women, high prolactin levels, a condition known as hyperprolactinemia, can suppress ovulation. This means that the ovaries do not release eggs regularly or at all, which can make it difficult to conceive.

Prolactin can also affect the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. The luteal phase is the second half of the cycle, and it is necessary for maintaining a pregnancy. If prolactin levels are high, it can result in a luteal phase defect, which may lead to difficulty in sustaining a pregnancy.
