Triglycerides - description and reference ranges

What is it?

Triglycerides are a type of blood fat. Triglycerides store energy for future use and are very important in a healthy functioning of your body. However, like any fat, too much is not a good thing and leads to an increased risks of cardiovascular disease.

Triglycerides are our main source of energy and come from two sources: what we eat and what is produced by the liver, for future use.
